Coming home for christmas

It´s usual in Germany, that everyone comes home for christmas. So it´s the best time to come together as family.We arrived at lunch time. This year I wished for "Linsensuppe" in english: lentil soup. And so my mother was so kind and made it for me.

After lunch we unwrapped a real fir tree, because it is sold wrapped in a net. This way its better to handel it with the car and so on. 

After unwrapping it, we have to wait till the branches will lay down.

It´s a tradition that my sister and my father went a few weeks before christmas out to hunt for "that tree". No way is too far and money don´t matter if its for the sake of the perfect tree :D. And every year they get scolded by my mother how much they spend again for the tree ^^.

This year we used this time to do last grocery shopping and visiting my grandma. 

She is preparing a lot of food for the 1st Christmas Day. 

Every year we all came together to have lunch till dinner together at my grandmas home.

My grandma is a very lovely woman and we appreciate her very much :D.

In the evening, we started the most important part of preparing for Christmas:

Now, everything happens while listening to old american christmas songs :D

                                                                        

While doing this, we had beer and my dad made hot mulled wine for us too :D.

Mum is proud and making fun while we tried to get a decent photo. But like you see, it´s not possible :D.

This little guy is a gift from a chinese friend of us. Since it´s not matching with our other decorations, we hung it a bit on the back of the tree :D but it´s still hanging on the tree ;).

Last part of preparation: writing christmas cards....

Our reward:

In the evening we were watching together " The little Lord Fountleroy" and after that the old czech version of " Cinderella". Both are very recommendet christmas movies, which my parents also watched, when they were children.
